Available MCP Servers¶
The following 5 MCP servers can be installed using mcp install
:
- filesystem - File operations (✅ Tested & Working)
- github - GitHub integration
- postgres - PostgreSQL database (✅ Installation Tested)
- puppeteer - Web browsing
- brave-search - Web search
Additional servers (git, fetch, google-drive, atlassian, slack) must be added manually using:
Conclusion¶
The MCP functionality is FULLY IMPLEMENTED as of June 13, 2025:
- ✅ Server management (list, install, remove, add)
- ✅ Server testing and tool discovery
- ✅ Tool execution via
mcp exec
command
MAJOR UPDATE: The MCP tool execution feature has been successfully implemented and is working with real JSON-RPC protocol communication. All documented MCP commands in the API Reference are now functional and production-ready.
Implementation Details¶
The mcp exec
command now includes:
- ✅ Full MCP JSON-RPC 2.0 protocol support
- ✅ Initialize handshake with MCP servers
- ✅ Tool execution via
tools/call
method - ✅ Professional error handling and user feedback
- ✅ Result parsing for different content types
- ✅ Timeout handling (10 seconds for tool execution)
Recommendations¶
- ✅ COMPLETED: API documentation has been updated with correct
mcp exec
syntax - ✅ COMPLETED: CLI Guide has been updated to reflect working tool execution
- ✅ COMPLETED: All MCP integration examples now use the correct command format
- NEW: Consider expanding MCP server ecosystem with additional built-in servers
- NEW: Add MCP command examples to main README for better discoverability
